What do we know so far?
Katu 2 ABC News reported that a man was critically injured on Sunday after his Tesla crashed in Oregon City, OR. Clackamas Fire crews responded to the disturbing scene on Bradley Road, where they found that the driver had been ejected from the vehicle after it veered off the road at high speed. The injured man was then transported via helicopter to get medical attention for the serious injuries he had sustained to his head, chest, abdomen, and femur.
What’s the context for this?
Though it is not yet clear what caused the Tesla to veer off the road, it is entirely possible that this incident and the injuries it caused to the vehicle’s driver may have occurred as a result of issues associated with Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (“FSD”) technology. The beleaguered auto maker announced a recall of over 360,000 of its vehicles due to safety concerns with the FSD software earlier this year.

If Tesla’s FSD software is to blame for this tragic collision, the risks it poses affect everyone on—or even near—roads upon which any Teslas are driven.
