Congratulations to the WSAJ Government and Legislative Affairs Team for their hard work in collaborating with lawmakers to get Bill 1618 signed into law by Governor Inslee last week! Bill 1618 passed in this year’s special session with unanimous, bipartisan support effectively eliminating a child sexual abuse statute of limitations in Washington.
Many people worked tirelessly to get this legislation through to the finish line, including Rep. Darya Farivar; Becky Roe, Schroeter Goldmark & Bender; Nate Roberts, Connelly Law Offices; John Webber, GLP Attorneys, current WSAJ Vice President Legislative Affairs; Amie Peters, Blue Water Legal, current 2nd Vice President Legislative Affairs; and current WSAJ President Colleen Durkin Peterson and a team of advocates from Pfau Cochran Vertetis Amala.
