Thurston County Sheriff John Snaza suffered life-threatening injuries in an off-duty motorcycle accident in Montana, according to the sheriff’s office.
The accident happened about 6 p.m. Tuesday while Snaza was riding in Northwest Montana, the sheriff’s office says in a news release. He was airlifted to a hospital in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where he is in critical but stable condition.
Snaza was elected sheriff on Jan. 1, 2011, and re-elected on Jan. 1, 2015. He has been with the sheriff’s office since 1993.
