Amtrak Cascades to Replace 50+ Unsafe Talgo Railcars

The Seattle Times reported today on the ongoing investigation into Amtrak’s growing negligence in the December 18, 2017 crash where rail cars crashed onto I-5 .  The article discusses “blistering comments” by the NTSB that pointed fingers at track owner Sound Transit, Amtrak, the Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and the Federal Railroad Administration for a series of training and safety-management failures that led to the derailment of a train traveling 80 mph into as curve supposed to be taken at 30 mph.  Amtrak is now replacing 50+ Talgo railcards on its Cascades route that did not adequately protect passengers in the deadly crash: https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/transportation/wsdot-to-replace-its-talgo-railcars-like-those-in-the-2017-amtrak-crash-near-dupont-as-soon-as-possible/
