In a followup to one of our previous blog articles, GM is now recalling even more Saab and Saturn models because of safety concerns with the Takata PDSO-5 driver front air bag inflator.
At risk of improperly rupturing and shooting metal fragments into vehicle occupants, these Takata air bag inflators have resulted in ten confirmed deaths and over 100 injuries worldwide.
In the largest recall of Takata air bag inflators, GM is recalling Saab 9-3 vehicles from 2003 through 2011, Saab 9-5 vehicles from 2010 through 2011, and Saturn Astra 2008 and 2009 vehicles.
