On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, a fifty-five-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle while walking along Highway 155. Michelle Boord was walking on the shoulder of Highway 155 south of Electric City near the Grand Coulee Dam Airport when she was struck by a 2021 GMC Sierra and subsequently flown to the hospital for treatment. According to the Washington State Police, the driver was not impaired and will face no charges since Ms. Boord was walking in the roadway.
Highway design is often unfriendly to pedestrians, and pedestrians have certain responsibilities in walking safely. However, often conditions like flooding or broken or obscured lights can create circumstances that lead to a greater risk of accidents. In one such case, a GLP Attorneys client was able to recover over $3 million in damages after investigation proved that the conditions of the roadway was a contributing factor in the accident.
GLP Attorneys hopes that Ms. Boord is able to make a full recovery from this devastating accident. If you have been injured in a car accident, it is important to connect with a personal injury lawyer as soon as possible.
