Seeking Justice for Lucy Garcia: A Heartbreaking Case of Neglect in Ohio Nursing Homes

In a heartbreaking case from Ohio, the family of Lucy Garcia, a 72-year-old woman, is seeking justice after she died from sepsis due to a severe pressure ulcer that developed during her care at a nursing home. Garcia had been residing at Arbors in Oregon and experienced back pain. She was admitted to St. Charles Hospital on June 19. There, doctors discovered she had a Stage 4 pressure ulcer—an injury the nursing home had concealed from her family. Tragically, she passed away on July 2 from complications related to the untreated wound.

The family claims that systemic failures and inadequate care at the nursing home contributed to her death and the coroner ruled her death a homicide due to caretaker neglect. In response, the family is filing a wrongful death suit against Arbors at Oregon. They are calling for accountability to ensure that such negligence does not happen again.

GLP Attorneys sends its deepest condolences to the family of Lucy Garcia.
