In October 2022, 71-year-old cyclist William Hoesch was riding in Rainier, Oregon, when he was struck by an ambulance. The vehicle was making a right turn when it hit Hoesch, severely damaging his bike and causing significant injuries.
Following the accident, the ambulance took Hoesch to the nearest hospital, but he was billed $1,862 for the ride. On top of that, he is facing more than $47,000 in medical costs, with an additional $50,000 anticipated for future care. Though the crash occurred at relatively low speed, Hoesch’s injuries were significant, especially given his age. He suffered a fractured nose and multiple scrapes across his body.
Now, Hoesch is suing for $997,000, seeking compensation for pain and suffering. He claims the crash has resulted in lasting physical damage, including a reduced range of motion and weakened grip strength in his hands.
On behalf of everyone at GLP Attorneys, we extend our heartfelt wishes to Mr. Hoesch for a swift and full recovery, as well as the justice he rightfully deserves.
